What Can You Learn From Me?

What is my contribution to mankind?

Recently, I attended a networking event when during a conversation revolving around motivational speaking I was asked by one of the participants in this discussion, what someone could learn from me.

I have never thought about what someone could learn from me, never!

Although I say that I am in the teaching mode of my life, I have not given any thought to what someone could LEARN from me.

I found it difficult to spontaneously answer that question.

Now, after digesting the question I have painfully come up with what I think to be a very detailed (although incomplete) answer.

You see, it is uncomfortable for me to tell others about myself or my accomplishments for fear of sounding like a bragger.

However, I could not possibly answer that question unless I allow one to discover my past accomplishments in order for them to judge whether or not there is something for them to learn from.

And, for that to happen, I must profess my experiences in such a way as to not sound like a bragger but rather factual in my accomplishments and, my discoveries as well.

While pondering this obvious difficult question for me to answer I can only think to start by looking way back in my life experiences.

Knowing how I would answer this question would be extremely lengthy therefore; I shall concentrate my answer to the very topic that prompted this question in the first place and leave the very lengthy answer for another discussion, should someone prompt the question.

We were discussing my book “Who Sleeps In Your Skin?” at the time.

My book is a motivational book intended for the reader to reach a state of mind where they would allow themselves to be self-actualized, or at least begin the journey to be so.

It is about moving forward in life and dealing with what is keeping one from doing so.

Simply, the answer to the question “What can someone learn from me?” is to
discover themselves and learn to be self-actualized.

One may learn from me:

• Self awareness
o Knowing who you are not what others want you to be
o Like and dislike yourself-having an objective opinion of yourself
o Realizing that you are not perfect but, so what?
o Set goals for yourself and knock down the barriers in your way to reaching those accomplishments
o Realizing that you can only be the best that you can be!
o Forget about negative competition that prevents you from successes
o Knowing that you have the answers within to reach all that you want to reach-to be all that you want to be!

• The Survivor Power Tool Kit and its Eleven Motivational Power Tools.
